This beauty, a mermaid feeling the winds of freedom through her hair, is made by Anna-Kajsa Alaoui. She paints beautifully, mostly abstract and emotional

A trip to Byxelkrok in Öland where my grandmother (on my father's side) had a house by the sea. 2008 I decided to visit every atelier I could find, along with the mermaid book.
Marianne Forsberg made this colorful mermaid! I found her in her atelier "Humlan" (means bumblebee, check the corner!) She already had paintings, looking alot like this, a woman with the same pose, a bit african? With the "Blå jungfrun" (blue virgin) in the background. But this time it's just not a dress, it is also a tail!

Nr. 93 Sten Kärvinge
A trip to Byxelkrok in Öland where my grandmother (on my father's side) had a house by the sea. 2008 I decided to visit every atelier I could find, along with the mermaid book.
Sten Kärvinge drew this lovely mermaid, actually sitting on "Blå jungfrun" the island outside of Öland! Very mysterious, is said to be the gathering place of all the witches during halloween (Blåkulla) and you're NOT allowed to bring stones from the island, or say the island's name during the trip. He's an amazing artist, he has illustrated several books and nature is his main motif.

Bengt Kullander drew this cool mermaid with, basicly, just lines. His atelier was filled with paintings, but mostly ducks in different colors and shapes
