A new friend I met the other day, Sophy, got really excited about the idea of drawing a mermaid so I received this lovely beauty from her! I can't thank you enough from drawing this, from spreading the message of the mermaid book to you friends and to tip me about kickstarter that might help this project on it's feet. Thanks for meeting you!
This is from her blog about the mermaid book:
"Mermaid and ten thousand thank you’s.
Recently, I blogged about The Mermaid Book that a new friend of mine is working on. I’m really excited about this project and was really happy to be asked to participate. So today I’ve spent the afternoon working on my version of a mermaid. I knew right away that I didn’t wanted to do draw a “classic” mermaid. I wanted to make her to be a bit more like something out of a horror movie. I first thought of Ursula from the little mermaid, and how it’s so unfortunate that Disney always makes their evil characters ugly. Why is that?Anyways, I started to draw, and this came out of the tip of my pencil. Sometimes it feels like my drawings have a life of their own, and this was one of them. She doesn’t have a name yet, but I really like her. I imagine her luring young sailors into the water and then drags them down with her many tentacles.
I’m really glad that I finished this today, as this drawing is one of the pieces that I’ve been most proud of recently. I wanted to make something special for you guys in order to thank you so much for visiting my blog and encouraging me to continue to work. Yesterday, I passed ten thousand visitors on this blog, and I’m speechless. When i started blogging 3,5 months ago I had no idea that it turn out like this. I’m truly grateful for all your kind comments and your support. I really really love each and everyone of you (
Goch! I can't believe I've missed this. I'm so happy to participate and spread the word of this book. I hope my Twitter feed doesn't hate me already. ^^
